(R. GREY LOFTS #212 - DESEELHORST LOFT - RESIDENTIAL UNIT) Fire sprinklers substitute for the 1-hr construction of the building. To construct improvements within a 1,834 square foot tenant shell located on the 2nd story of an existing 3 story with basement building. This tenant space will be occupied as a dwelling unit. Work is to include interior nonbearing walls, suspended gypsum board ceilings, millwork, and finishes. This tenant space is required to comply as a “Type B” dwelling unit with an “option B” toilet and bathing room. Permit BLD06-03565 was issued to allow limited work associated with rough mechanical and rough plumbing. Under that permit, a double walled “Type B” gas vent, a dryer duct, an outside air duct, and an exhaust duct were stubbed into this space and extended vertically through the 3rd story and roof to the outside. Those activities were also authorized by separate trade permits. The 1-hr fire-resistance-rated corridor system and the 1-hr fire-resistance-rated dwelling unit separation walls and floors were constructed under the shell permit (BLD06-00845). The new work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 as regulated by the Fire Department. **CJW**
