(WALMART NEIGHBORHOOD MARKET - PHASE 2) (8-7-13 PLAN MODIFICATION TO REVISE THE CURB RAMP AT THE MAIN ENTRY, REMOVE AND REPLACE ADDITIONAL CONCRETE SLAB ON GRADE, AND VARIOUS ADDITIONAL CHANGES.) The fire sprinkler system is used for building area increase and for fire area. To remodel a 43,282 square foot tenant space located within an existing building. This tenant will occupy the entire building. This tenant space is considered to be a separate building from the rest of the shopping center. It is separated from the North building by a 2-hr fire wall. Shell permit BLD12-01950 was issued earlier for this space to remove a 2-hr fire wall and perform other interior demolition and construction. The work is to include interior nonbearing walls, a Men’s restroom and a Women’s restroom accessible to the disabled, two single user restrooms accessible to the disabled, walk-in coolers, a walk-in freezer, a grease trap, grease hoods and ducts, suspended acoustical ceilings, interior shelves and racks, exterior concrete ramp and steps, and interior finishes. Structural work includes a drag strut and other ties for a seismic upgrade, new beams to support added equipment on the roof, repairs to existing masonry walls, and a new exterior masonry screen wall with a concrete footing and foundation. Special Inspection is required for concrete, welding, masonry rebar and grouting, epoxy anchors, Titen anchors, and rack anchorage. A 35 foot long interior masonry shear wall will be demolished. The design for the jib crane is a deferred submittal item. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. **CJW**
