(PRIMARY WEAPONS SYSTEMS) Fire sprinkler system used for building area increase and for fire area. To remodel an existing 60,374 square foot building (52,483 square foot 1st story and 7,891 square foot 2nd story) for a new office, manufacturing, and storage occupancy. This building is actually 2 “buildings” separated by an existing 2-hr fire wall. The 1 story Type II-B “building” has a floor area of about 44,373 square feet. The 2 story Type V-B “building” has a total floor area of about 16,001 square feet (8,110 square feet 1st story and 7,891 square feet 2nd story). The existing 2-hr fire-resistance-rated fire wall is required to be maintained. All H Occupancy uses in this building are required to be abandoned. Work is to include interior nonbearing walls, interior doors, a multi-user restroom on the 1st story accessible to the disabled, a single user toilet/shower room on the 2nd story accessible to the disabled, a single user toilet room on the 2nd story accessible to the disabled, skylights, suspended acoustical ceilings, millwork, finishes, exterior wall infills, exterior windows, an exterior stairway, and exterior façade repairs. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. John and I went over the life safety requirements. Three exit doors need to be provided with single action hardware and all exit signs and emergency lights need to be repaired and tested. I received clarification from Carl Westfall that exit discharge lights are not required and that the exising fire doors are not required either. Fire extinguisher placement is ok. Gate has 20'-0" clearance. Address is installed in two locations.
