(IDAHO AQUARIUM - EXPANSION) (4-2-14 PLAN MODIFICATION TO USE THE EXPANSION AREA FOR OFFICE AND STORAGE AND NOT FOR ASSEMBLY. THE TOTAL OCCUPANT LOAD OF THE EXPANSION AREA WILL BE 23 AND THE TOTAL OCCUPANT LOAD OF THE TENANT SPACE WILL BE 299 (274 ASSEMBLY, 7 OFFICE, AND 18 STORAGE). A FIRE ALARM SYSTEM IS NOT REQUIRED UNTIL THE OCCUPANT LOAD IS 300 OR MORE. A TOTAL OF ABOUT 4,693 SQUARE FEET OF THIS TENANT SPACE WILL BE AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC FOR EXHIBIT TOURS.) (2-19-13 PLAN MODIFICATION TO CONSTRUCT A 36 SQUARE FOOT SITE BUILT AQUARIUM FOR A NEW OCTOPUS EXHIBIT. THE WATER DEPTH IS LIMITED BY THE STRUCTURAL DESIGN TO 48 INCHES MAXIMUM. WORK IS TO INCLUDE 54 INCH HIGH CONCRETE WALLS WITH VERTICAL REBAR AT 16 INCHES ON CENTER AND HORIZONTAL REBAR AT 12 INCHES ON CENTER. VERTICAL REBAR WILL BE EPOXY ANCHORED INTO THE EXISTING CONCRETE SLAB. GLASS OR POLYCARBONATE OBSERVATION PANELS ARE REQUIRED TO BE DESIGNED TO RESIST THE WATER PRESSURE IN ACCORDANCE WITH NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED STANDARDS. A COPY OF THE STRUCTURAL DESIGN FOR THE OBSERVATION PANELS IS REQUIRED TO BE PROVIDED TO THE STRUCTURAL INSPECTOR. EXISTING EXIT DOORS ARE REQUIRED TO BE MAINTAINED.) Fire sprinkler system used for building area increase and for fire area. To expand an existing 9,264 square foot tenant space into an adjacent 4,597 square foot area. After the expansion, this tenant space will have a total floor area of about 13,861 square feet and an assembly occupant load of 393. The first permit for the Idaho Public Aquarium was BLD11-01835 and the second was BLD12-00811. The use of this tenant space is for exhibit tours. A total of about 6,480 square feet of floor area will be available for this use. This facility is NOT approved for day camps and/or overnight stays. Site built aquariums are required to comply with the Structural Engineer’s design. Special inspection is required for epoxy anchors, welding, concrete, and masonry. Precautions shall be taken to prevent children from falling into the aquariums. If guards are not provided, sufficient adult supervision is required at all times when children are present. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the structural design, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. **CJW**
