(LUCKY FINS SEAFOOD GRILL) (7-27-13 PLAN MODIFICATION TO EXPAND THE KITCHEN AREA INTO AN ADJACENT INTERIOR AREA BY ABOUT 220 SQUARE FEET. THE ENTIRE EXPANSION AREA WILL BE OCCUPIED BY AN ENLARGED WALK-IN COOLER AND FREEZER. THE KITCHEN EXPANSION WILL ALSO ALLOW A FOOD PREPARATION AREA TO BE LARGER.) The fire sprinkler system is used for increased floor area and for increased occupant load within the fire area. To remodel an existing tenant space for a new restaurant tenant. The 730 square foot building addition was constructed under permit BLD13-00537. Interior nonstructural demolition was done under permit BLD13-00410. This tenant space will have a floor area of about 4,393 square feet inside at grade, 582 square feet on the mezzanine, and 1,933 square feet on the patio. Work is to include interior nonbearing walls, 2 restrooms accessible to the disabled, suspended acoustical ceilings, gypsum board soffits, grease hoods, grease ducts, a grease trap, a sewage ejector pump, a dishwasher hood and duct, interior finishes, an exterior overhead door, new exterior doors, and exterior windows. Penetrations through the 3-hr fire-resistance-rated floor are required to be fire stopped to maintain the fire rating of the floor. Structural work includes construction a new steel awning, modifying a portion of the mezzanine, and filling in a floor opening. Special inspection is required for welding, bolting, expansion anchors, and epoxy anchors. Before holes are created in the 3-hr fire-resistance rated floor, the floor is required to be X-rayed to ensure that no reinforcement will be cut. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, with the structural design, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 as regulated by the Fire Department. **CJW**
