(PETERSON WAREHOUSE FIRE WALLS AND PARTY WALL) Fire sprinkler system used for building area increase. Interior nonstructural demolition, the entire demolition of the building link, and the demolition of interior mezzanines were done under permit BLD14-01680. To divide an existing building with 3-hr fire-resistance-rated firewalls for type of construction separations and with a 3-hr fire-resistance-rated party wall to be located at a future property line to allow separate owners. Formerly this building was an unlimited area building with 60 foot yards all the way around it. Creating a property line to divide the building to facilitate separate owners makes this building ineligible as an unlimited area building. The fire walls are intended to bring each portion of the building within the allowable building area as defined by the 2012 International Building Code. Work is to include upgrading existing walls to comply as 3-hr fire-resistance-rated fire walls, installing a 3-hr fire rated coiling overhead door, upgrading existing walls to comply as 3-hr fire-resistance-rated party walls, and upgrading an existing exterior wall to comply as a 1-hr fire-resistance-rated exterior wall at a property line. Other work includes installing structural fill in a recessed interior floor area and placing a 6” thick concrete floor slab on top of the structural fill with the top of the new floor slab level with the adjacent floor. Existing columns in the fill area are to be protected from corrosion. This is a shell permit only. It does not establish a Certificate of Occupancy for any tenant. Tenants are required to apply for their own permit to establish a Certificate of Occupancy. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 as regulated by the Fire Department. **CJW**
