(LUNCHBOX) The fire sprinkler system is used for building area increase, for story increase, and for fire area. To remodel an existing building for a new full-service, speed-wax salon and office tenant. The basement has a floor area of about 1,888 square feet and is NOT approved for occupancy (considered to be an unoccupied crawlspace having some mechanical equipment). The wax salon is located on the 1st story and has a floor area of about 2,029 square feet. The 2nd story has a floor area of about 4,382 square feet and will have a reception area, waiting areas, offices, and a conference room. Work includes interior nonbearing walls, 3 single user restrooms accessible to the disabled, interior doors, interior windows, suspended acoustical ceilings, gypsum board ceilings, millwork, finishes, exterior storefront glazing, exterior windows, exterior doors, and exterior plaster. An elevator will be installed in conjunction with this permit. Structural work that was started about 5 years ago without a permit will be completed under this permit. Structural work includes new joists attached to existing joists, new beams, new beam hangers, new columns, concrete anchors, and a steel pan deck to support a new concrete slab. Special Inspection is required for epoxy anchors, for Titen anchors, and for welding. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 (including quick-response sprinklers where required) and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**
