Description |
(KENSINGTON APARTMENTS SWIMMING POOL AND SPA) To construct an in-ground concrete swimming pool and a separate spa. The water surface area of the swimming pool will be about 1,428 square feet, the pool perimeter will be about 186 lineal feet, and the volume will be about 30,779 gallons. The water surface area of the spa will be about 181 square feet, the spa perimeter will be about 56 lineal feet, and the volume will be about 3,029 gallons. Work is to include a reinforced concrete gunite swimming pool (pool walls and pool floor), a concrete stairway to serve the pool, a pool ladder, handrails, a pool lift for the disabled, and pool equipment. Work is to include a reinforced concrete gunite spa (spa walls and spa floor), concrete stairways to serve the spa, handrails, concrete bench around the inside spa perimeter, a lift for the disabled, and spa equipment. One accessible entry for the disabled (i.e. a pool lift) is required for the swimming pool and one accessible entry (i.e. pool lift) is required for the spa. A fence with 3 egress gates to enclose the swimming pool and spa area will also be constructed under this permit. This permit is not intended to establish a Certificate of Occupancy although the pool is not allowed to be used until this permit is finaled. Compliance with the 2012 ISPSC is allowed in lieu of the 2012 IBC. The restroom and pump room building that will serve the swimming pool and spa fenced area was constructed under permit BLD15-01108. The swimming pool or spa shall not be filled with water until the fence is completed. The pool or spa shall not be used until the work authorized under permit BLD15-001107 (Clubhouse) and BLD15-01108 (Activity Center) is completed and Certificates of Occupancy are issued under those permits. Two exterior concrete stairways and an exterior concrete ramp will also be constructed. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the structural design, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. **CJW**
