(KIDS CHOICE DAYCARE – SOUTH END OF BUILDING) This building does not have a fire sprinkler system. To create an 8,546 square foot daycare tenant space within an existing 10,795 square foot commercial building defined by the existing exterior walls and an existing fire wall (about 13,600 square feet total including canopies). Work is to include 6 restrooms accessible to the disabled (4 using accessible dimensions for children), furring and insulation installed on the inside of exterior walls, interior nonbearing walls, an interior 2-hr fire barrier wall to define the childcare fire area, interior doors, interior windows, new openable exterior windows, new exterior doors, a Type I grease hood, millwork, and finishes. New openings will be created in the existing exterior masonry walls. Work includes steel angle irons, steel plates, and through bolts. Special Inspection is required for welding, grouting, bolting, and epoxy anchors. An existing exterior door opening will be infilled. An exterior fence will be provided to create a secure play area for children. Children less than 2.5 years of age are allowed to be cared for only within rooms having a door directly to the outside. Smoke detectors are required in rooms used for sleeping. A carbon monoxide detector is required within this building. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such system. **CJW**
