(EMERALD BUILDING ELEVATOR ADDITION) The fire sprinkler system is used for fire area, building area, and for story increase. To construct a 213 square foot elevator addition (160 sq. ft. 1st story and 53 sq. ft. 2nd story) to provide an accessible route to serve potentially about 6,516 square feet of the existing 7,939 square foot 2nd story. The elevator will not be available to serve about 1,423 square feet or more of the 2nd story. This building has a total floor area of about 22,169 square feet (13,791 square foot 1st story and 8,378 square foot 2nd story). Work is to include concrete footings, concrete foundations, masonry walls, masonry columns, wood floor joists, wood roof joists, wood floor and roof sheathing, wood stud walls with wood sheathing, interior nonbearing walls, changing a shower room to a toilet room accessible to the disabled, suspended acoustical ceilings, a relocated door, and relocated windows. Special Inspection is required for soils, concrete, masonry, and for wood shear elements. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 as regulated by the Fire Department. A separate fire sprinkler permit shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such system. This permit does NOT establish a Certificate of Occupancy for any tenant. This is a shell permit only. Each tenant is required to apply for and receive their own Certificate of Occupancy before occupancy. **CJW**

We anticipate having something from the engineer this morning on the rebar. We would still like to pour the walls this afternoon, if possible. With the engineer''s.response, do we still need MTI for rebar inspection? Do we need MTI for cylinders? What is the best email to send your the engineer"s response?
