(PASSENGER BOARDING BRIDGE AT GATE 21 – BOISE AIRPORT – CONCOURSE B EXTENSION) The fire sprinkler system is used to substitute for 1-hr fire-resistance-rated construction of the concourse building. To construct a fixed 60 foot long elevated passenger boarding bridge to connect Concourse B Extension to the fixed end of a relocated passenger boarding bridge at Gate 21 (which has the capacity to telescope and rotate about the fixed end). Work is to include a new 5 foot diameter concrete drilled pier foundation (at least 14 feet in depth), a relocated steel rotunda column and steel base plate, a relocated passenger boarding bridge, a new 60 foot long fixed passenger boarding bridge, a new concrete slab on grade, etc. The design for the new 60 foot long fixed elevated passenger boarding bridge is a deferred submittal item (the design live load of the floor should be at least 100 pounds per square foot). Special Inspection is required for soils, concrete, anchor bolts, and welding. The existing concrete drilled pier foundation next to the concourse will be used to support one end of the new fixed elevated passenger boarding bridge. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, with the structural design, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The aircraft passenger boarding bridge, including the fixed portion, shall comply with NFPA 415. Where applicable, the fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**

Per my interpretation of the drawings/scope of work atleast two exit signs are required, two fire extinguishers, new emergency lighting at the plane end of the tunnel and testing of the new lighting at the concourse end of the tunnel. Contractor is going to contact my supervisor to see if the intent is for the entire tunnel or just their new section.
