**Project Management-Ron Hill**(ATHLOS ACADEMIES – STRUCTURAL UPGRADE) (DRH15-00410) (1-14-16 PLAN MODIFICATION TO INSTALL NEW STEEL BEAMS BELOW THE FLOOR BETWEEN THE 2ND AND 3RD STORIES TO REDIRECT THE GRAVITY LOAD PATH SO THAT EXISTING COLUMNS CAN BE REMOVED. THE NEW BEAMS WILL BE SUPPORTED BY NEW STEEL COLUMNS, NEW CONCRETE SHEAR WALLS, CONCRETE COLUMNS, AND CONCRETE FOOTINGS. WORK WILL ALSO INCLUDE RECONSTRUCTING PORTIONS OF THE 1ST STORY FLOOR SYSTEMS AT THE WEST AND SOUTH ENTRANCES TO MAKE A GRADUAL TRANSITION BETWEEN THE INTERIOR FLOOR LEVEL AND THE EXTERIOR SIDEWALKS.) The fire sprinkler system is used for building area and story increase. To structurally upgrade and remodel an existing building. This permit is Phase I of a multi-phase project. This permit is not intended to establish a Certificate of Occupancy for any tenant. This building has a total floor area of about 86,011 square feet, 109,511 square feet including the basement, and 113,921 square feet including the basement and the occupied roof (23,500 square foot basement, 22,917 square foot 1st story, 7,145 square foot 1st story mezzanine, 23,810 square foot 2nd story, 23,809 square foot 3rd story, 8,330 square foot 4th story, and potentially 4,410 square foot of occupied roof area at the 4th story floor level). Work is to include concrete footings, steel columns, a seismic upgrade (concrete moment frames, masonry shear walls, steel stud shear walls, new floor diaphragm over existing, wall ties, connections, etc.), filling in existing floor openings (joists, sheathing, etc.), a new masonry stairway enclosure, increasing the height of an existing concrete stairway enclosure, increasing the height of existing concrete elevator shafts, converting the basement to a parking garage, a concrete vehicular ramp with retaining walls, and new roof top insulation with a single-ply roof membrane. Special Inspection is required for concrete, concrete moment frames, masonry, steel, structural steel, welding, soils, wood diaphragm nailing, and epoxy anchors. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, with the structural design, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. **CJW**
