Description
(SOCKEYE BREWERY BOILER ROOM ADDITION AND EXTERIOR CONCRETE SLAB TO SUPPORT FERMENTATION TANKS) (DRH15-00446 MODIFICATION TO DRH12-00207) The fire sprinkler system is used for building area increase and for fire area. To construct a 206 square foot building addition at the Northwest corner of an existing 15,050 square foot building (11,946 square feet inside) to function as a boiler room. The foundation and the interior slab on grade for that addition were done under permit BLD15-04448. A new 829 square foot exterior concrete slab will be placed to support steel fermentation tanks that are about 20 feet tall. The new slab will be placed directly over an existing sloped concrete slab on grade. The new slab will range from 6 inches thick to 16 inches thick and will be reinforced to support the gravity and lateral loads induced by the tanks (compression, sliding, uplift, etc.). The attachments of the tanks to the concrete slab are required to be capable of resisting seismic and wind loads as determined by the Project Structural Engineer and in accordance with his design. In addition, an existing concrete slab will be expanded and a new exterior concrete stairway constructed. A new glycol chiller will be installed on top of that expanded concrete slab in conjunction with this permit. Six foot tall chain-link security fences will be constructed around the tank area and the chiller area. Compliant egress is required from these areas. A new sloped vehicular ramp will also be constructed. Special Inspection is required for epoxy anchors. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. All equipment shall be listed and labeled per the adopted Electrical Code with approval from the PDS Electrical Inspection Section. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**
