Life safety will be able to pass when the column protection is addressed. Per Greg, the sprinkler designer, Class IV commodities can not be stored on the racks with out meeting item #1 of NFPA 13 16.4.1. The tenant stated that the Class IV commodities will be stored on the floor. If that will be the case the drawings will need to be resubmitted showing the storage arrangements of the Class IV items. This would include location, aisle widths and size of solid pile including the height and width.
Upon further conversation with the tenant it appears that a separate permit will be pulled to add sprinkler protection at the columns to meet item #1 of NFPA 13 16.4.1.
