(SARMC “EASY STREET” – SOUTH TOWER – 4TH STORY – WEST END) To remodel a 3,136 square foot area within an existing high-rise building to be used as a physical rehabilitation center for those learning how to live independently with a new physical disability and for those who have suffered brain trauma requiring them to relearn everyday skills. “Easy Street” will be located within a new Care Suite not containing sleeping rooms. The Care Suite will be defined by smoke partitions. The existing corridor enclosures located outside of the Care Suite are also required to comply as smoke partitions. Work is to include interior nonbearing walls, interior doors, interior windows, nonfunctioning appliances and fixtures (i.e. toilet, shower, bath tub, furnace, water heater, clothes washer, clothes dryer, dishwasher, range, etc.), ramps, steps, curb ramp, elevated floor, suspended acoustical ceilings, gypsum board ceilings, finishes, and millwork. Wood located within concealed spaces is required to be fire-retardant-treated wood. Since the intent is to simulate features that do not comply with accessibility standards, compliance with accessibility standards was not necessarily required. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**
