(RESIDENCE INN BY MARRIOTT –REMODEL OF HOTEL UNITS) None of these buildings have a fire sprinkler system. To remodel 104 hotel units within 13 existing hotel pods (8 hotel units per pod). There is a total of 6 hotel buildings. Each building has 1, 2, or 3 pods. Work is to include 7 hotel units upgraded to comply as accessible units, new paint, new wall coverings, drapery, drapery valiances, finishes, millwork, tub surrounds, counter tops, floor coverings, and furniture. Light fixtures will be replaced with more energy efficient light fixtures in conjunction with this permit. Interior bearing walls will be replaced with beams and columns to accommodate the changes within the accessible units. The 1-hr fire-resistance-rated construction throughout, including nonbearing walls, is required to be maintained or restored. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The existing fire alarm system is required to be maintained as regulated by NFPA 72 and by the Fire Department. A separate fire alarm permit shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such system. This is a scope of work permit only. The work done to accommodate the disabled is a voluntary upgrade and does not trigger any accessibility provisions of the 2012 IBC as being mandatory unless the units will be represented and marketed to the public as being accessible to the disabled. It does not establish a Certificate of Occupancy for any building. The original Certificates of Occupancy are still valid. **CJW**
