(CATH LAB REMODEL – 3RD STORY – EAST END OF THE NORTH TOWER – SAINT ALPHONSUS REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER) The fire sprinkler system is used for high-rise and for occupancy. To remodel two areas (122 square feet UPS equipment room and 697 square feet Cath Lab and Console Room) located on the 3rd story of the North Tower. Work is to include interior noncombustible nonbearing walls, lead shielding, suspended acoustical ceiling, gypsum board ceiling, gypsum board soffit, medical equipment, a floor bearing plate to support medical equipment, overhead structural support grid for medical equipment (horizontal Unistrut for gravity loads, vertical Unistrut for gravity loads, and diagonal Unistrut braces for seismic loads), new doors, counters, cabinets, and finishes. While transporting the new medical equipment through the building and while staging for installation, floors and elevators are not allowed to be overloaded. Special Inspection is required for welding, for bolting, and for post installed concrete anchors. The installation and use of X-ray equipment, including shielding, is required to comply with all applicable Industry, State, and Federal regulations. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the structural design, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 (including the installation of quick-response fire sprinkler heads within the Cath Lab and Console Room remodel area) and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**
