(ZELHAM OFFICES – 1ST STORY) The fire sprinkler system is used in lieu of rated corridors. A fire sprinkler system will be installed throughout the 1st story in conjunction with this permit. A fire sprinkler system will be installed throughout the 2nd story under a future phase. To remodel the entire 13,988 square foot 1st story of an existing two story building which includes five areas (1) 5,481 square foot office tenant space with 55 OL in the East end of the building, (2) 2,604 square foot office tenant space with 26 OL in the Northwest corner of the building, (3) 1,653 square foot shell tenant space with 17 OL in the Southwest corner of the building, (4) 668 square foot fitness room / break room / server with 25 OL, and (5) 538 square foot shared conference room with 36 OL. To expand the existing Men’s common restroom on the 1st story by 102 square feet to 266 square feet (add 3 toilets) and to expand the existing Women’s common restroom on the 1st story by 102 square feet to 264 square feet (add 3 toilets). A new doorway will be created in an existing masonry wall between the existing restrooms and the restroom expansion areas. Steel headers and steel jambs will be installed. Work is to include interior nonbearing walls, a new toilet / shower room accessible to the disabled, interior doors, interior windows, millwork, and finishes. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the structural details, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. A fire sprinkler permit and a fire alarm permit shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**

A temporary for life safety is being given with Assistant Chief Ron's permission until the two pre-action systems/rooms have been addressed. Per the contractor the smoke detectors are active in these rooms. They will need to remain active until the associated pre-action system is functional.
