(APPLIED MATERIALS AND TESTING – OFFICE AND WAREHOUSE) (DRH17-00567) (CUP17-00079) The fire sprinkler system is used for building area increase and for fire area. To create a 20,341 square foot office and warehouse tenant space within an existing 41,146 square foot building constructed under permit BLD17-02765. Work is to include interior nonbearing walls, two multi-user toilet/shower rooms accessible to the disabled, a single user toilet room accessible to the disabled, interior doors, interior windows, suspended acoustical ceilings, millwork, and finishes. A mechanical mezzanine accessed only by a ladder will be constructed within this building above the restrooms. Work related to the mezzanine includes thickened concrete floor slabs below bearing walls, steel stud bearing walls, sheet steel shear walls, and a concrete mezzanine floor on a steel pan deck. An exterior pedestrian ramp accessible to the disabled and an exterior vehicular ramp will also be constructed. Work related to the ramps includes concrete footings, concrete stem walls, concrete floor slab, steel guards, and steel handrails. Several exterior tilt-up concrete wall panels have been redesigned from what was proposed under the shell permit. The new panels have more openings in the East and South exterior walls. Special Inspection is required for concrete tilt-up panels (including reinforcing steel), anchors post-installed in hardened concrete, and steel (including welding). A separate permit is required for racks that are over 8 feet tall. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the structural design, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**
