About 1,619 square feet of an existing 3,174 square foot building will be demolished and about 1,555 square feet will remain. To construct an 1,898 square foot addition to the remaining 1,555 square foot building. After the addition, this building will have a total floor area of about 3,453 square feet. The net increase in building floor area is about 279 square feet. For the portion of the existing building that will remain, work includes concrete footings, concrete stem wall, a wood stud bearing wall with headers and trimmers that is also a shear wall, R-30 rigid insulation installed on top of the roof deck, a new membrane roof covering, steel siding, wood siding, and exterior rock veneer. For the metal building addition, work includes concrete footings, concrete foundations, steel beams and columns that are also rigid frames, steel roof purlins and steel roof deck, cross bracing in the plane of the roof structure, end wall and side wall framing with cross bracing, steel siding, liner roof insulation system with thermal blocks, and wall insulation. Special Inspection is required for anchors in concrete, anchors post installed in hardened concrete, welding, and bolting. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the structural design, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. **CJW**
