(BOMB SHELTER – CODE UPGRADES FOR OFFICE USE) A fire sprinkler system will be installed in conjunction with this permit and will be used to allow stories without exterior openings and to substitute for rated corridors. To remodel an existing 12,595 square foot building (6,375 square feet lower story and 6,220 square feet upper story) to be used for office and for music rehearsal. This building is not a public assembly occupancy. Work is to include upgrading a toilet room on the upper story to be accessible to the disabled with an accessible toilet stall and sink, installing handrails on existing stairways, and installing post-installed anchors in hardened concrete to support fire sprinkler piping. HVAC work will also be done under a separate mechanical permit to provide outside air to each room. This permit is intended to establish a Certificate of Occupancy for this tenant within this building. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department (fire sprinkler monitoring). Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**
