(FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH – EXTERIOR STAIRWAY REPLACEMENT) (DRH19-00126) (CVA19-00015) The fire sprinkler system is used for building area increase. An existing exterior steel stairway will be removed and replaced with a new exterior steel stairway. Work is to include concrete footings, concrete stem walls, tube steel columns, a concrete wall to infill a former basement window, compacted fill, new concrete filled steel pipe bollards, exterior concrete sidewalks and slabs on grade, a tube steel fence at grade, tube steel stair stringers, open grate steel treads and landings, steel riser plates, steel guards, steel handrails, a new door opening at grade in an existing exterior masonry wall with an existing concrete bond beam above, a new glazed exterior storefront exit door, existing ground supported condensing units moved to an existing roof top, a tube steel guard at the edge of the roof, a new 5 riser concrete stairway at grade as a continuation of the new exterior steel stairway to grade, new light fixtures to illuminate the new exterior stairway, 2” x 2” structural steel screens at existing window openings next to the new stairway to function as guards and in lieu of safety glass (safety glass that complies as a guard is allowed in lieu of the steel screens), and a new steel canopy above the new stairway. All weather exposed steel will be primed and painted. Special Inspection is required for soils, concrete, welding, and post-installed anchors in hardened concrete or brick. This is a scope of work permit only. This permit is NOT intended to establish a Certificate of Occupancy for any portion of this building. Existing Certificates of Occupancy are still valid. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the structural design, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**
