ST LUKES-EAST TOWER EXPANSION - To install six new fire alarm control extender panels to provide manual and automatic fire alarm protection within the new addition TI areas on the 1st and 2nd floors and for the unfinished shell areas. The alarm system design indicates sprinkler monitoring, elevator recall, total area smoke detection on the 1st and 2nd floors (which plans indicate are to be used for release of smoke dampers by floor of origin in these areas), induct detectors for smoke damper release in unfinished building areas, duct detectors for HVAC air handler shutdown, and a previously approved method of a/v annunciation, all connected to the existing FS-90+ system now in service for the SLRMC. There will also be related modifications to the existing FACP-30 panel located in the Maintenance Boiler Room.
This permit does not include the Nurse call system.
The building permit (BLD01-00234) is to perform Tenant Improvement Construction of a 19,315 sq. ft. 1st floor for a new Emergency Department (ED) and 21,205 sq. ft. on the 2nd floor for Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Construction to be of non-combustible framing with fire-resistive sheetrock covering to create 1-hour rated exit corridors, reception, lobbies & waiting areas; sleeping, exam, & treatment rooms; support area for associated staff and equipment; to install suspended ceiling grid system; electrical, mechanical & plumbing systems to satisfy adopted city, state & federal requirements for this occupancy group; to divide patient sleeping & treatment areas into suites with 1-hour occupancy separation per code, each with required exit access systems to serve their particular area without exiting through another. Note : This building is fully fire sprinklered as a condition of the "I" occupancy classification.
