LES SCHWAB TIRE CENTER - To install a new fire alarm system as required by UFC 8102.5 due to high piled storage in this existing, non-sprinklered building. The alarm system will include smoke detectors within the high piled storage areas, monitoring of 120v duct smoke detectors for HVAC air handler shutdown, monitoring of standpipe hose control valve tamper switches, audible/visual alarms, and offsite alarm monitoring.
The associated building permit (BLD 01-00460) is to add approximately 3,640 sq.ft. to the existing vehicle repair garage and modify existing CMU wall to a two hour area separation wall. The area separation wall will divide this building into two separate buildings. The east portion will be 4,140 sq.ft and the remainder building will be 15,900 sq.ft. Additional work included in this permit is to remodel the interior retail sales area and provide a one-hour occupancy separation wall between the repair garage area and the office, retail areas.
