ST LUKES - To install a new alarm system within an existing, 42,000 sq ft, sprinklered, building. The alarm system will include monitoring of the fire sprinkler system and duct smoke detectors for HVAC air handler shut-down, and off-site alarm monitoring.
The associated building permit (BLD 02-01218) is to: Within the existing 42,000 sq. ft building, add a new overhead door and new exit access door with landings within a 26,400 sq. ft. warehouse storage area. Work includes cutting out an 10'-8" high by 11'-4" wide portion of the existing masonry wall to allow installation of a new overhead door per engineering and plans. NOTE: Existing bond beam over new opening to remain in place. Existing roof truss system runs parallel to the new opening. To install bracing at top of existing CMU wall per plan. To upgrade exit system by installing appropriate landing on both sides of a minimum 3'-0" x 6'-8" man door to be located in the NW corner of the storage warehouse, a location of a previous exit door. To add hand rails as required at all stairs & ramps; verify exit door hardware, exit signage & illumination; verify draft stops in attic and sprinkler & alarm system throughout building. NOTE: The sprinkler system is required for allowable area increase for code compliance of existing building.
