ST JOSEPH'S SCHOOL - To add alarm devices within the new addition area and monitoring of the new fire sprinkler system installed throughout the entire school building, including the new addition, connected to the existing building fire alarm system. Alarm coverage within the new addition includes manual pull stations, selective coverage smoke detection for release of fire door hold-opens and elevator recall, supplementary coverage smoke detection in classrooms, fire sprinkler system monitoring, in-duct smoke detectors for release of fire/smoke dampers, and horn/strobe devices.
The associated building permit (BLD 02-00505) is to construct a two-story, Type V 1hr classroom addition between the existing classrooms and gym. Includes (5) classrooms, media ctr. expansion, storage room, new ramp, and a elevator. Materials will match the existing building w/brick and stucco and windows, wd trim will match adjacent finishes. Entire building will receive a new fire sprinklers system throughout which will be used for substitution of one-hour construction. Fire Sprinkler and Fire Alarm require separate permitting and approval, as regulated by the Fire Chief. All work is per approved plans and attachments RH01-00243. Area of the addition is 3, 429.5 square feet for the 1st and 2nd floors with a total of 6,859 sq. ft.
The associated fire sprinkler permit FIR02-00309 is to install a new fire sprinkler system in a 22,077 ft/2 school which includes a 6,859 ft/2 (3,430 ft/2 1st floor, 3,429 2nd floor) two story, Type V 1hr classroom addition, between the existing classrooms and gymnasium. The new addition work includes five classroom, a media center expansion, a storeroom, new ramp, and a new elevator. Fire sprinklers system will be used for substitution of one-hour construction. Underground fire service supply was permitted under FIR02-00265. This permit is attached to building permit: BLD02-00505.
