6/8/2004 - Plan Modifications - Scope revised to add dry sprinkler system on concourse B, adding NAC #16 (comm. room 2199-C) with new appliances to second floor, and demolition of building and temporary walkway.

The original fire alarm permit (FIR01-00523) and drawings have been voided and superceded by FIR02-00411, which includes new drawings. Fire alarm drawings were resubmitted due to initiating and notification device relocation/additions. The areas where the changes have been made are clouded on these drawings. Comments from the previous permit reviews are included in this review. The scope of work is to extend the existing fire alarm system to include the new addition areas. Coverage will include a manual fire alarm system, sprinkler flow, valve tamper and fire pump monitoring, elevator recall, in-duct detectors for fire/smoke dampers, duct detectors for HVAC air handler shut down, full visual annunciation with a voice evacuation system, limited area smoke detectors in mechanical equipment rooms, all connecting to two existing networked fire alarm panels with two new 4120 transponders and monitored offsite by remote station service.


The building permit (BLD 01-03428) is to: CONSTRUCT A NEW 311,820 SQ. FT., THREE STORY WITH 45,000 SQ. FT. BASEMENT AIRPORT PASSENGER TERMINAL BUILDING AND RELATED SITE IMPROVEMENTS. THIS TERMINAL BUILDING IS BEING CONSTRUCTED TO REPLACE THE EXISTING TERMINAL BUILDING. THE PROJECT WILL BE CONSTRUCTED IN PHASES. SCHEDULE I WILL BE CONSTRUCTED OUTSIDE OF THE EXISTING TERMINAL FOOTPRINT AND WILL INCLUDE THE BASEMENT SUPPORT AREAS, FIRST FLOOR BAGGAGE CLAIM/MAKE UP, SECOND FLOOR TICKETING, ATO AND LEASE AREAS AND THE THIRD FLOOR ADMINISTRATIVE AND LEASE AREAS. SCHEDULE II WILL INCLUDE DEMOLITION OF THE WEST END OF THE EXISTING TERMINAL BUILDING AND THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE FIRST FLOOR RENTAL CAR LOBBY AND GROUND LOAD LOBBY AND SECOND FLOOR SECURITY CHECKPOINT, FOOD COURT AREAS AND PASSENGER LINK TO EXISTING CONCOURSE 'B'. SCHEDULE I ALSO INCLUDES CONSTRUCTION OF TEMPORARY ELEVATED WALKWAYS AND SECURITY CHECKPOINTS CONSTRUCTED OVER THE EXISTING TERMINAL BUILDING, TO CONNECT THE COMPLETED AND OPERATING SCHEDULE I BUILDING WITH THE EXISTING CONCOURSES. AFTER COMPLETION OF SCHEDULE II, THE REMAINDER OF THE EXISTING TERMINAL BUILDING, THE TEMPORARY ELEVATED WALKWAYS AND CONCOURSE 'A' WILL BE DEMOLISHED AND REMOVED.
