The existing space to the east will have all new ceiling fixtures and will require the existing sprinkler system above the ceiling to be abandoned. A new exposed piping system will be added, new 2" super flow piping will replace the schedule 40 piping, and new quick response upright sprinkler heads will replace the pendant sprinkler heads that are being removed. This area will be fed from the existing 3" main via a mechanical tee. This main will be cut and capped at the now exterior wall. The existing space to the west will remain as is except the existing standard response sprinklers will be replaced with new quick response pendant sprinklers. These heads will be fed from the existing 3" main via a mechanical tee supplying 2" super flow pipe.
These changes are required to be made due to the removal of the north end of the building. This demolition of the building has caused the sprinkler piping feeding these two areas to be outside and exposed to the elements.
The fire sprinkler system work shall comply with IFC 2000, attached review comment and conditions list, as regulated by the Fire Chief. These notes, permit and fire "Inspection Card" are required to be on site as a condition of this work, to provide witness of compliance verification of minimum code. This permit is NOT attached to any other permit.
