Provide a/v's in rooms 115 and in the facp room as per plan. A/v's overspaced in 116, 103, 106, 107 and outside of toilet 124. Provide correct sample tube lenghts for the duct smoke detectors. Provide map for facp and stickers on the annunciators telling where the map is at. Test remaining duct smoke detectors in the sanctuary and daycare. Test a/v's on second floor. I was called out to this project for a fire sprinkler inspection and found wire installed overhead and into the conduit and back boxes. The fire alarm plans have not been issued for this project. This work was done by Future Tech, the fire alarm contractor. I notified Mary Froemke so that any possible double fees could be assessed.

I spoke to Brian with Future Tech about placement of the duct smoke dectors. Since the hvac design has interconnections between the returns on all of the units, which is something I haven't seen before. I asked him to submitt to the fire alarm plan reviewer a design for the duct smoke detectors that meet IMC from a mechanical engineer for review and approval. Per the fire alarm contractor the mechanical engineer only showed duct detectors on two hvac units.

I issued a citation to Romar Electric/Kurtis Carlson for violation of IFC 902.1 as adopted by Boise City Municipal Code section 7-01-02 for beginning installation of the fire alarm system without approved plans.

I stopped at the project per Mary's request to verify if fire alarm work had been started without approved drawings. I found backboxes and conduit installed but no wiring. Per Andy Lieurance, the electrician that installed the boxes, who is with Romar, the boxes where installed during rough-in and he was then told to quit installing since it was FutureTechs job to install. I will talk to Dave Miller on Monday to verify that a citation will be issued. According to city records Romar has received two precitation letter already.
