To provide required automatic detection and notification to an existing required manual fire alarm system that includes sprinkler monitoring, HVAC shutdown, elevator recall/shutdown and notification throughout.

The associated building permit (BLD 03-02465) is to build out and occupy approximately 26,900 sq.ft. of area on the ground floor, with associated work on the 1st & sub-basement levels, to be used for surgery suite and support areas per approved plans. To perform selective demolition to include structural modifications; to temporarily relocate certain essential hospital services, to continue in operation; to construct new interior non-bearing, non-combustible, fire-resistive walls to create groups of suites for operating rooms and support facilities throughout the ground floor. This project will involve Phases 1 & 2 as indicated on sheet G0.1 with six future phases requiring separate submittals and permits; to install two supply service elevator lifts & equipment rooms from the sub-basement to the ground floor; maintain existing fire-resistive ratings of 2-hour floors and shaft assemblies, create 1-hour occupancy fire barrier walls at incidental use areas and to create non-sleeping hospital suites; upgrade electrical, plumbing, mechanical, sprinklered and alarm systems to meet tenant needs and comply with current adopted codes and ordinances.
