Description |
For the second floor: To provide in-duct detectors for 11 fire/smoke dampers and notification appliances in the "limited" remodeled area with proper coverage. The existing required manual fire alarm system includes sprinkler monitoring, HVAC shutdown, fire/smoke damper control, door release, elevator recall/shutdown and audible notification only throughout sections of 211, 212 and 213 of the second floor in the south tower of St. Al's. An upgrade agreement has been generated to defer any upgrades in the 211, 212 and 213 sections of the second floor in the south tower of St. Al's outside the limited scope of work as defined by the building permit.
The associated building permit (BLD 04-00056) is to remodel this portion of the 2nd floor south tower by constructing approximately 60 foot of new wall to divide the existing Cancer Treatment Center Nursing Unit into two units, CTCNU on the north half and relocating the Security Pediatric Nursing Unit from the 3rd floor to the south half of 2nd floor area. Work includes construction of metal stud walls with 5/8" fire rated sheetrock on both sides from finish floor to bottom of 2-hour concrete floor above to maintain 1-hour corridor / smoke barrier between the existing 'I-2' and relocated 'I-3, condition 3', SPNU; install relocated locked security doors at east and west access to the SPNU; to create new Pantry, Nurse Station and Equipment rooms; to divide the units, upgrade interior finishes, cabinetry, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire sprinkler and alarms systems to meet tenant needs and comply with current adopted codes and ordinances regulating building construction. A "Letter of Compliance" is required for this project as a condition of this permit. PC04-024/drs (SARMC-CANCER TREAMENT CENTER NURSING UNIT / SECURITY PEDIATRIC NURSING UNIT-2ND FLR, SOUTH TOWER)
