To replace an existing fire alarm system. The required manual fire alarm system includes HVAC shutdown, fire/smoke damper control, door release and notification throughout.

8/27/2004 - Additional scope:

Duct detector added for RTU 7, in the nurses station.

A new NAC panel has been added to accommodate the NACs from the FACP. The NACs from the FACP will now be the "supervised" trigger for each of three NAC panels.

The existing smoke detectors in the corridors are being changed out to a Silent Knight, SLK-24F with HSB-224 base.

The school district has requested to use an existing Maxsys security panel (UL listed for fire alarm) as the dialer for the required monitoring by a remote supervising station. This is an acceptable solution as long as the Maxsys panel will send alarm and trouble. (No supervisory signals may be processed by the FACP as there is no means to transmit the signal to the remote supervising station.) Therefore, duct detectors must by an alarm signal. The Maxsys panel has an existing 12v 12 a-h battery back-up, which per the battery calcs should be sufficient for 24 hour supervisory and 5 minute alarm.

The associated building permit (BLD 04-00791) is to replace accordion and panel partitions with new non-load bearing partitions, upgrade fire alarm system and add a fire rated entry to serve the exit from the multipurpose room per approved plans and attachments.
