Description
To provide required area smoke detection and notification (speaker/strobes) on the entire 7th floor. The core area was upgraded previously and existing devices/appliances are shown on the plans. The required manual fire alarm system includes required automatic detection, HVAC shutdown, fire/smoke damper control, door release and notification (speaker/strobes) throughout.

1/13/2005 - Plan Modification was submitted by request of PDS Fire Inspector, per an inspection/Notice of Violation (dated 11/29/2004) that addresses (initiating devices) and the NAC circuit were not installed per approved FA permitted plans. This Plan Modification is the as-built of the 7th floor.

The associated building permit (BLD 04-01093) is to remodel a 1,488 square foot area on the 7th floor of the Hoff Building for a new office occupant. This tenant will occupy about half of the floor. Work is to include interior nonbearing walls, interior doors, and interior windows all per the approved drawings and the plan review report on file. A total coverage smoke detection fire alarm system will be installed throughout the 7th floor in lieu of exit separation. If smoke is detected anywhere on the 7th floor, the entire 7th floor shall be alarmed. A separate alarm permit is required. Within the modified areas, fire sprinkler heads shall be located or relocated to comply with NFPA 13-2002 as regulated by the Fire Department. **CJW** HIGHWAY 12 - HOFF BUILDING - 7TH FLR) This building is fire sprinklered for building area increase, because it is a high-rise, and to comply with 1994 UCBC provisions.
