To relocate one (1) heat detector to the Carpentry Shop (M1-89), one (1) smoke detector to Clinical Engineering (M1-85) and exchange the door release smoke detector with a system smoke detector on the entrances to the Carpentry Shop and Clinical Engineering. The existing voluntary fire alarm system includes manual fire boxes, HVAC shutdown and audible notification. The battery and voltage drop calculations appear to have sufficient capacity. No written comments, PDS Fire Inspector to field verify proper placement of relocated smoke and heat detectors, proper labeling within the program and the functionality of the door releasing smoke detector (non-system). An updated building map shall be provided at time of inspection.

There associated building permit BLD05-00007 is to remodel a 1,368 sq.ft. office area within the existing 1st floor of Central Services Building. Work includes selective demolition, construction of new interior non-bearing, non-combustible, fire-resistive walls to create a reception area and office with new lighting and switching per energy code and; a new Bio-Med Clinical Engineering area for repair and testing of hospital equipment. Medical gas piping and tank storage are for use in testing medical equipment being repaired.
