To provide monitoring on a special extinguishing system and release a double interlocked pre-action sprinkler system for the vault. The required sprinkler monitoring fire alarm system includes the monitoring of the special extinguishing system. The extinguishing system consists of two panels, one as a slave to the control panel.

2/8/2005 - Three additional smoke detectors were added to the vault area because of 18" beams located at the ceiling, therefore a smoke detector was placed in each "beam Pocket" per NFPA 72.

The associated building permit (BLD 04-01854) is to construct a new 710 sq. ft. fire rated storage vault for multi-media and paper documents in southwest corner of existing 33,060 sq. ft. warehouse building per approved plans on file. Fire rating the vault is per the owner's request and not required by code. Work to include new reinforced concrete footings and foundation, new concrete slab, new reinforced CMU walls, new steel ceiling beams, new steel deck and concrete slab ceiling, new 3-hour rated door assembly, fire sprinkler and alarm work, some new mechanical work, and some electrical work. Special Inspection is required for concrete, reinforcing steel, structural field welding, structural masonry, and epoxy/adhesive anchor installations. This is a Scope of Work Permit.
