Description |
To provide a required sprinkler monitoring fire alarm system in an existing building that includes releasing a double interlocked pre-action sprinkler system and HVAC shutdown.
3/25/2005 - The scope has been revised to accommodate five (5) storage areas on the second floor that contain pre-action sprinkler heads but no temperature control. Smoke detectors were originally shown for initiating devices and will be changed out to heat detectors. (Addresses D16, (plans and riser indicate a smoke, PDS Fire Inspector to field verify heat detector is installed) D36, D23, D26 and D28).
The associated building permit (BLD 04-00896) is to perform restoration work to an existing historic building. Work is to include plaster repair, paint, wallpaper, window repair, a new HVAC system, electrical upgrades, and plumbing changes all per the approved drawings and the plan review report on file. The 1994 Uniform Code for Building Conservation (UCBC) shall be used to regulate this building. This building will be used as a museum with office use. Tours by the public will be under the supervision of staff. The size of tour groups will be small. A fire alarm system and a fire sprinkler system will be installed. The fire sprinkler system shall comply with NFPA 13-2002 as regulated by the Fire Department. **CJW** (CYRUS JACOBS / UBERUAGA BOARDINGHOUSE) This building will be fire sprinklered in lieu of exterior opening protection, in lieu of a basement enclosure, in lieu of stair enclosures, in lieu of fire-resistance-rated corridors, in lieu of shafts, and for story increase.
