To provide complete notification in the remodeled area (1st flr, MRI Remodel) and monitor a new FM 200 suppression panel for alarm, supervisory and trouble (installed by General Fire for the MRI computer room only). There is a Liebert (4650 cfm) that feeds the MRI computer room only, therefore no HVAC shutdown is required per the IMC 606.2, exception. The required manual fire alarm system includes HVAC shutdown, fire/smoke damper control, door release, elevator recall/shutdown and notification throughout.

The associated building permit (BLD 04-01865) is to (ST LUKES-CENTRAL-1ST FLR)(MRI REMODEL) Remodel existing 981 sq. ft. area to include MRI vault, replace existing MRI unit and remodel existing MRI computer room. Work includes selective demolition of raised flooring and infill of the sunklen area with concrete to be level with surounding floors; construction of new interior, non-bearing, non-combustible wall to create new work area from part of previous computer room; removal of exterior wall portion designed for removal & replacement for work / replacement of MRI unit in vault.
