The required manual fire alarm system includes HVAC shutdown, cooking hood monitoring, elevator recall/shutdown and notification throughout. System smoke detection is required in the R-1 (boarding house) corridors along with required single-station smoke detectors in the rooms. One room is required to be ADA compliant.
