To provide a required manual fire alarm system that includes required automatic detection, sprinkler monitoring, HVAC shutdown, fire/smoke damper control, door release, elevator recall/shutdown and notification throughout.

The associated building permit (BLD 05-01063) is to finish the exterior & interior of a 38,020 square foot, two story addition with mechanical penthouse, adjacent to and connected to the existing Labor & Delivery Unit by two connecting links; to create patient rooms, exam rooms, nursing stations, administrative support and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit on the second floor; installation of millwork, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, fire suppression, alarm and medical gas as per tenant needs and compliance with codes and ordinances; to install a suspended ceiling grid system and interior finishes; to remodel a portion of the existing FMC for sleeping rooms for medical personnel; and to install exterior glazing and finishes. See the city approved plans for devices tested today which included the induct detectors and duct detectors for unit shutdown. Per the mechanical contractor the max cfm in the trunk lines is roughly 1200. The simplex detectors are listed to 2000cfm.
