To provide a sprinkler monitoring fire alarm system that includes fire/smoke damper control. This also requires an "Emergency Alarm System" (EAS) as defined in 2704.9 IFC (see comment #19) and a "Ventilation System Emergency Shutdown" (VSES) as defined in 2704.3 IFC (see comment #18).

The associated building permit (BLD05-00978) is to construct a new 8,260 square foot, one story, steel framed industrial building to be used as an acetylene gas compressing plant and a 1,950 square foot, steel framed, roof covered dock and related site improvements. The acetylene plant will consist of a 1,360 sq. ft., equipment room, a 285 sq. ft. mechanical room, a 455 sq. ft. office space with single restroom and small break room, a 4,400 sq. ft. charging room and two 880 sq. ft. covered loading docks at the east and west sides of the charging room. This building will be fire sprinklered with the exception of Equipment Room #104 The remote 1,950 sq. ft. covered dock is being reviewed as an outside storage area for hazardous materials.
