The pre-action sprinkler system for this space was modified, see scope below for FIR06-00034. New smoke detectors are being provided in the control room, under the floor in the MRI room and under the floor in the computer room to an existing zone on the pre-action panel (Notifier, RP-1001). The pre-action system is a double-interlock and requires both smoke and lo-air for actuation. Three fire/smoke dampers are being installed in the wall of the control room to the corridor, these are 120VAC and will be monitored by the building fire alarm control panel. An additional door hold-open is being installed at the control room door, it will be connected to an existing circuit.

The associated building permit (BLD 05-03256) is to remodel a portion of the existing hospital (northwest corner) to allow for a replacement of the existing MRI unit with a new MRI unit & equipment room per approved plans. To convert use of storage room 103 to MRI equipment room; and to convert tech service area 104 into file storage area. To install raised access floor in new MRI equipment room and portion of MRI room; upgrade concrete floor at new MRI unit; new smoke partition walls at new file storage room 104 W/ self closing, rated door; modify electrical, mechanical, plumbing, sprinkler & alarm systems to meet tenant needs and comply with current adopted codes and ordinances. drs (HEALTHSOUTH TREASURE VALLEY HOSPITAL)(MRI SUITE)

The associated sprinkler permit (FIR06-00034) is to remove and plug 4 existing heads and copper piping, and reinstall 4 new SSP's and copper piping for a replacement of the existing MRI unit with a new MRI unit, relocate 13 existing SSP's and add 4 SSP's to allow & equipment room; the conversion of storage room #103 to MRI equipment room and tech service area #104 into file storage area and the installation of new smoke partition walls at new file storage room #104, for the remodel of a portion of the existing hospital located in the northwest corner. Work not addressed in the fire protection permit is the installation of a raised access floor in new MRI equipment room and portion of MRI room and upgrade concrete floor at new MRI unit. Fire sprinkler work in the MRI unit room shall be in accordance with minimum requirements of IFC-2003, and attached review comment and conditions list, as regulated by the Fire Chief. These notes, permit and fire "Inspection Card" are required to be on site as a condition of this permit, to provide witness of compliance verification of meeting minimum code.
