01/08/07 Areas of Concern and Field Verification Required Prior to Final Acceptance:
This review is based on the following information and requirements, derived from the plans and submittals provided by the designer for permitting:
The water meter must be connected directly to the United Water service main since designer does not include any piping from the main to the meter and water supply certificate from United Water does not indicated the test was taken at or through the water meter.
( 81’ of Poly pipe was added to the calculations 01-08-07)
The designer calculations incorporate a 1½” AMES 2000B and the plans show/address a 1¼” which means the 1½” will be required. Plans and calcs must correlate.
(The plans & calculations now conform. 1¼” AMES 2000B 01-08-07)
The designer does not integrate on the plan the complete installation requirements (listing) for exposed CPVC piped risers. The bulk of the requirements not addressed on the plan are referenced in Item #15 below. IFC Fire/Life Safety inspector shall verify installation code of CPVC riser in this dwelling.
(Noted 01-08-07)
Only 2’-0” lift is shown in the calcs from the water supply to the base of the riser. Anything more may require resubmittal verification of design.
(Confirmed by an IFC Fire/Life Safety inspector. 01-07-08)
The font size of the underground site detail is nearly unreadable that verification of calcs and plan design is impossible to verify. The length allowed for the 1½” Polybutylene from the “SRC” (water meter) to the copper transition under the floor is: 81’-0” (per calcs).
(The plans have been revised. 01-08-07)
02/01/07 Re-Submittal Comments:
This review is based on changes made during construction.
These changes under Revision #2 do not appear to adversely affect the operation of the system as it was designed and approved. These plans dated January of 2007, shall be considered the last revision under this permit. Any further modifications will result in a complete resubmittal.
Under revision 2, 5 heads were added outside the remote area. The back flow device was a 1.25” Watts model 007. The approved riser location has also been moved from the originally approved location under this revision.
