The fire sprinkler work for the two room west addition and the ten room west addition is complete. 401 canopies have been added at al of the heads that were in conflict with the lights. Jim is to provide 401 canopies for the two pendants that were in the locked closets and change the sidewall heads in the corridor ceiling pockets to quick responce. I will verify this work at the next inspection. Also the sprinkler piping in the connecting corridor, as marked on the approved plans, is ok to cover. This piping has not been connected to the dry system yet and will need to be verified at a later time.

This inspection was actually for a conference regarding the light fixtures blocking the pendant sprinkler spray. Grinnell did not show up for the conference but the superintendant for Petra was there and he made a copy of the Beam Rule spacing chart in NFPA 13 cahpter 8. We measured a couple of heads so that he knew what I was looking at.

Todays inspection was for the wet system. I failed it because the plans and hydraulic calculations state the max spacing is to be 196sq ft per head. The installation and the piping plans show the heads at nearly 225sq. ft. I contacted Brian. The plans need to be resubmitted prior to the next inspection for verification that the greater spacing is hydraulically supported.

The attic system rough-in in the south wing is passed. Per jim and I's discussion it will be ok to provide a 1" drain from the 2 1/2" branchline to the 4" main. Through bolts are required on all of the earthquake attachments. The dry piping in the overbuilds has not been installed yet nor has the 4" tie in.
