Description
This fire alarm permit is to establish compliance with the International Fire Alarm Code - Chapter 907 requirements due to the replace of the existing fire alarm control panel. The work was completed prior to the permit issuance and a new Silent Knight 5208 fire alarm control panel was installed replacing the previous panel that was described to have a timer module defect and outdated. The system requires and mentions that new compatible automatic smoke detectors were installed with the new FACP. No building permit is associated with this permit. (Stand Alone)

07-23-08 SCOPE MODIFICATION: The installing contractor has changed to High Country Alarms. The new installer has not started work without a permit.
NOTE TO INSPECTOR: The original fire alarm system was designed and installed to the 1979 edition of the UBC and related codes. Because the original panel is not working, this is not considered a "system replacement", but just a panel replacement. At that time of installation, there was not a distinction between R1 and R2 occupancies. Based on the original code, this would fall under an R2 occupancy classification now.
