Scope of Work: Overhead & Underground - St. Mary's Catholic Church Addition and Remodel - To remodel an existing 4,250 square foot, existing church building and construct a 9,750 square foot church addition on the west end of the existing church building. The addition will have a large nave, a narthex, cry room, sacristy, equipment rooms and two restrooms. The new addition is constructed of masonry and steel stud exterior walls and steel structural frame roof system. The existing church is constructed of masonry exterior walls and wood framing. This permit also includes related site improvements. This building is fully fire sprinkled. The sprinklers are used for area increase.
The under ground scope of work is to connect to an existing 6” gate valve located 35’ from the 8” main in the street. From there run 60’ of C900 out and rise up into the new addition Riser Room with 6” DI pipe. The overhead fire sprinkler scope of work includes installing a 3” wet riser and a 3” back flow device. Two separate systems will serve through out this single story Bldg. and the existing bldg. The existing bldg. consists of a lower lever and upper loft. These areas will be protected by an Anti Freeze system with up and down heads. The fire sprinkler system work shall comply with the IFC 2003, the attached review comments/conditions, as regulated by the Fire Chief. The review comments/conditions, permit and fire "Inspection Card" are required to be on site as a condition of this work, to provide witness of compliance verification of minimum code. This permit is attached to building permit: BLD07-01654 Revised Scope of Work: Overhead Only - These previously approved plans have been modified during construction. The modifications include replacing the approved back flow device with a Wilkins mod 375 RPZ. This modification did affect the anti-freeze system remote area of operation and the associated hydraulic calculation. In addition, sprinkler coverage was added in areas that were previously approved with out protection as it was noted to be non-combustible. The wet system branchline pipe sizes were changed to meet flow requirements. This modification did affect the wet pipe system remote area of operation and the associated hydraulic calculation. These modifications along with several others were noted as Delta 1 & 2, Per On-Site Conditions, dated 03/12/08 A total of 73 previously approved heads were affected by these modifications.
