This fire alarm permit is to replace the existing fire alarm panel with new. There are currently two panels; an existing DMP panel that serves as the dialing panel and an existing FACP. The DMP monitors the existing sprinkler system as well as monitors the existing FACP for alarm, trouble, and supervisory. The existing fire alarm control panel does not have the capacity to accommodate the tenant area devices, so it is being replaced with new. The existing notification devices are being replaced with compatible devices. The DMP panel will remain as the main dialing panel and will continue to function as monitoring the sprinkler system and the new FACP's alarm, trouble, and supervisory.

Associated building permit: BLD08-01791 (US POSTAL SERVICE - EXPANSION) This building is fire sprinklered for building area increase. To expand an existing 15,236 square foot US Postal Service tenant space (12,123 square foot existing interior area, 440 square foot canopy, 2,100 square foot canopy, and 573 square foot loading dock) into an adjacent 3,959 square foot interior area. After the expansion, this tenant space will have a total floor area of about 19,195 square feet. Work is to include upgrading 2 existing restrooms to be accessible to the disabled, enlarging an existing exterior door, and constructing a new nonbearing interior wall. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required comply with NFPA 13 as regulated by the Fire Department. **CJW**
