Description
This fire alarm permit is to connect two new duct detectors to the existing FACP due to a tenant improvement. No notification or other devices are part of this permit scope.
ASSOCIATED BUILDING PERMIT: BLD08-02552 (MONKEY BIZNESS) This building is fire sprinklered for building area increase and for fire area. To remodel an existing 11,651 square foot tenant space to be used as an indoor playground and party facility for children. This tenant space will be converted from an M Occupancy to combination A-3, B, and S-1 Occupancies. Air inflatable toys and other play structures will be provided within the play areas. Work is to include 2 restrooms accessible to the disabled, interior nonbearing walls, suspended acoustical ceilings, gypsum board ceilings, millwork, and finishes. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 as regulated by the Fire Department. **CJW**

The duct smoke detector located over the office area is mounted incorrectly which has been verified with FireX technical support. An updated map is also required at the facp. The plans also indicated existing duct smoke detectors in other tenant spaces. These detectors are not connected to the existing fire alarm panel as required by the IMC. I contacted Mark Senteno with the fire dept. via email about this issue.
