2-23-09: This fire alarm permit is to put in an owner requested automatic fire alarm system in an existing building. This permit scope includes notification for voice evacuation, a pull station, smoke and heat detection, sprinkler system and HVAC monitoring.
Associated building permit: BLD08-02170 (SIMPLEX/GRINNELL) NOTE: This building is fully fire sprinklered for area increase. To finish a new 7,723 sq. ft. office tenant with 1,950 sq. ft. of assembly Conference/Training room and 4,937 sq.ft. of warehouse in an existing 14,965 sq.ft. building. Interior demolition permit done under BLD08-02171. Work to include: construction of new interior partitions, door installations, suspended ceiling work, engineered folding wall, wall covering, window blinds, installation of shelving, cabinets, and partitions supplied by owner to create a work areas, warehouse, storage, conference, break room, and office areas. All work per the approved plans, plan review report, adopted codes, and city ordinances. NOTE: A Certificate of Occupancy is to be issued when completed and approved. **SRZ**

See the city approved plans for the location where one horn/strobe failed to operate. The candella had to be changed on three others while I waited. A re-inspection fee has been applied.

A temporary occupancy was given with sam rogers permission. The items that were tested and passed today were the phone lines from the existing silent knight panel to the central station, a trouble signale from the new panel to the silent knight panel, tamper switch, PIV switch, flow switch and hvac shutdown from the activation of one smoke detector. No other items were inspected. The other items will be inspected when the monitoring agreement is complete and the existing silent knight panel is removed and the phone lines attached to the new simplex panel.

Todays test was to be for only the riser monitoring portion of the system. Test had to be failed due to the central station not receiving all of the signals such as phone line 1 and 2 troubles. Per Robert this test will be rescheduled for monday.
