Description
This fire alarm permit is to provide speakers, speaker/strobes, and single/multi-station smoke alarms as a tenant improvement for a condo. These devices are an extension of the building voice evacuation system.

Associated building permit: BLD08-01714 (THE ASPEN - RESIDENTIAL UNIT 1702) Fire sprinklers required because this building is a high-rise. To create a 2,310 square foot dwelling unit on the 17th story and 18th story of a new high-rise building (1,046 square feet on the 17th story and 1,264 square feet on the 18th story). The 1-hr corridor/lobby on the 17th story will be constructed in conjunction with this permit. Work is to include 1-hr fire-resistance-rated tenant demising walls, 1-hr fire-resistance-rated corridor, interior nonbearing walls, suspended gypsum board ceilings, a noncombustible open stairway, guard, millwork, and finishes. The portion of this dwelling unit located on the 17th story is required to comply with ICC/ANSI A117.1-2003 Section 1004 as a Type B dwelling unit. The portion of this dwelling unit located on the 18th story is not regulated for accessibility. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances.
