Description
The Fire Sprinkler Scope of work consists of a new wet and new antifreeze system. The wet system is protecting below the ceiling. The wet system is protecting the attic space and other cold areas. The systems are supplied from a new 6: underground which is under permit FIR09-0408. The intention is for the building to be fully sprinklered throughout. There are combustible concealed areas that do not require sprinklers therefore a 3000 sf remote area was utilized. A new 4" RPZ will be installed. The individual apartments will be protected with residential type sprinklers.

Priest Retirement Home - To construct a new 16,377 square feet, one story, eight unit, apartment building with common areas and attached garages for retiring Catholic Priests. Each unit has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a 55 square feet patio. Each unit has a separate means of egress and also shares a common path of egress into and through a 1/2-hour exit corridor with 20 minute fire-resistive, listed, labeled, self-closing door assemblies from the dwelling units into the corridor. All eight units are required to comply as Type 'B' accessible dwelling units. All construction shall be per the approved plans, engineering, and attached plan review report. NOTE: This building is required to be fully fire sprinklered per NFPA 13. CUP07-00171 **SRZ**

Once the fire alarm interconnects have been tested this permit can be finaled. The forward flush test passed. I notified the building contractor that the fire sprinkler riser room does not meet the one hour rating requirement per boise city ordinance.

THe above ground hydro tests passed for both of the overhead systems.

Both of the overhead systems failed their hydro tests. I found three different locations where water was leaking out of the system and collecting in the baggies on the sprinkler pendants.

The sprinkler piping in the north wing/half of the building can be covered since the tenting has been completed. The tenting in other areas of the building has not been completed.

The rough-in for the anti-freeze system and the wet system passed. Two uprights had to be added to cover two overbuild areas. Piping can not be covered due to the tenting being incomplete in many areas. The riser has not been built yet.
